Birthday card & Get Creative Challenge

After  a very very very long time….. in other words, never….   I decided to make a card for a challenge! This is the first time I am entering a card challenge, and I decided to make my life even more difficult, by designing a birthday card for a man!!! Well, I wanted to make the card for someone special, and thought I would combine it with the fantastic sketch that Irini Liolia designed over on the Get Creative Blog

this is my take….

T_birthday

on Irini’s sketch!

Happy birthday T!!!

I hope you like your card… I know you prefer a more graphic and not so shabby card…

but I couldn’t help myself, I couldn’t not reach for my inks!!!

(The papers I used are from the 7 gypsies  collection “Lille”.  The base of the card was cut using the Pazzles, as was the bookplate with the “39” that I designed. The inside of the card is adorned with a paper from the same line, and I used a barcode font called “IDAutomationHC39M” to print “Happy Birthday”. And then ofcourse… I inked the edges to give the card a “finished” look )

Thanx for stopping by!

Quickie!

A quick card share!!

This was a simple yet elegant card I made for a wedding. A dear friend invited me to her daughter's wedding. As usual, I had forgotten to take a pic of the card (or rather, didn't have the time before the wedding), and so a friend took this shot, while we were waiting in line to greet the newly married couple! (better late than never!)

The pieces of cardstock are part of an older basic grey card kit. I didn't think that the embellishments in the kit matched however, so I made my own cardstock rose (the same roses were used on the cover of the guest book that my dear friend Z made for her daughter, you can see her beautiful handiwork here).

We had a fabulous time at the wedding, and I'm hoping that the happy coulple spends the next 100 years as blissfully happy as they were on their wedding day!!

Thanx for looking!

Quick share..

Hi there!

Hope you are all well.

Thought I'd pop in and share one of the first cards I ever made. Found the photos on my camera. I really have to discipline myself and get into the habit of downloading photos more often. It was for my cousin D. on her wedding day to G. .... October of 2008 LOL!

I Played around with a bit of embossing and a little inking, and I remember that I had alot of fun making the cute little envelope inside.
